Who We Are

Formed in the fall of 2005, the Seguin High School Photography Club (SHSPC) is an unaffiliated student organization of Seguin High School.

Our focus is to provide our members opportunities to participate in activities oriented toward developing and refining our skills in photography, video production and other computer oriented design media.

Because we are entirely self supported, receiving funding from neither the state, federal governments, or the local school district, SHSPC is open to all students of Seguin High School regardless of race, grades, sex, religion, financial or social-standing.

Welcome,

Welcome to the Seguin High School Photography Club website. We are glad you're here. After four years of having hodge-podge collections of pages here and there, mostly generated to suit some momentary need, we finally felt it was time for a definitive site. A place we could call home. A place where families and friends SHSPC could come and see the images we have collected through the years. The things we have done. A place where the parents of members could come for information about what's happening with SHSPC. The things we are doing!

As lead sponsor of SHSPC, one of the many things I love about my students is they will take a picture of anything... and in doing so, quite often collect some very extraordinary images. I remember that feeling. This site is all about highlighting this. Accentuating the exuberance of their youth and the excitement our members feel about everything they encounter. Being young is all about feeling. The young feel things very deeply and purely. As a result... they are natural photographers, experts at capturing a moment.

While it is true, I use my adult skills and logistical knowledge to generate the funds and organize our annual spring break trip. I would postulate I learn much more from my students, than they learn from me. Learning is a two way street. From this truth, is the fabric of education woven.
